Once you have fulfilled your GLM8 requirement, you can apply for the “Biodiversity and Sustainability” bio scheme. Here is an extra subsidy rate of DKK 2,740 and an additional supplement of DKK 1,500 if you choose to establish pollinator fallow.
You must comply with the GLM 8 requirement – You must apply for subsidies for at least 0.01 ha on the individual field and for at least 0.30 ha under the scheme.
You can apply for biodiversity & sustainability for a maximum of 50% of your area for basic payment – You cannot apply for areas where there are already national or EU rules that you are not allowed to cultivate the area.
What do I need to do to get a subsidy?
Mowing fallow or field margins can be chosen, but there is also the option to establish the following:
Flower fallow Soil treat and sow flower mix at least every two years (at least two optional seed and nectar-rich plant species per m2).
Pollinator fallow Soil treat and seed flower mix at least every two years (at least three specific pollen and nectar-rich plant species per m2) Deadline for ice seeding is April 30.
Field border with flowers Soil treat and sow flower mix at least every two years. (at least two optional seed and nectar-rich plant species per m2). The deadline for ice seeding is April 30.
No agricultural activity may be carried out on Small Biotope. The area can consist of uncut grass, trees and shrubs or be wet.
You may actively plant your area throughout the calendar year as long as the planting is not for production purposes. Remember that small biotopes under this scheme are limited to a maximum of 1 ha in size and must be plotted.
Flower fallow
For floral fallow, all our game mixes can be used to fulfill requirements. Several species are biennial.Pollinator fallow: It is a requirement for pollinator fallow that you use at least three different plant species, which are listed in the special plant species list.
The following seed mixes meet this requirement:- Flower fallow without grass – 8 species- Deer blend – 6 species- Pheasant blend – 5 speciesThe mixtures contain biennial species, which makes it possible to reuse in year two, but it should always be a professional individual assessment whether you believe that the area can be approved as a pollinator fallow in year two or whether it should be replanted as several species from the first year have not survived to the second year.
Small biotope:
The plant cover of a small biotope can consist of last year’s stubble field that has been left behind, be a previously used grassland or be last year’s flower mix (e.g. from a previously reported flower and/or pollinator fallow field).
You also have the option to soil treat your small biotope if it is done in connection with either wetting, planting trees and shrubs and/or planting a plant cover, which is not a production crop.
You may actively plant your area with trees and shrubs and/or a plant cover throughout the calendar year, as long as the planting is not for production purposes, i.e. it is possible to use our Deer blend, Pheasant blend and flower fallow without grass.
